Diablo III V1029991 Client Server Emulator REVOLT This is a client-server emulator for Diablo III. It can be used to play together with other people who are using the Revolt patch, which has been out for quite some time. It was built on top of the latest build of Unreal Engine 4 and uses assets from Blizzard's game engine that you can download here: https://github.com/BlizzardEnt/Diablo3-Engine#releases Revolt is an attempt by Blizzard Entertainment to break away from their past philosophy about how they should update their games. The main idea is that instead of making new patches/updates every couple of months, they will make major changes to the game once in a while. Once the change goes live, everyone will have to download the entire game again to play it. This has been tested out in Starcraft II for quite some time now, but Diablo III has only recently received its own version. This means that you cannot simply run patch 1.10 after installing this emulator and expect it to work. The only way to play is by installing the entire game again with this emulator. The blog post can be read here: http://us.battle. net/d3/en/blog/20727140/a-major-change-in-diablo-iii-and-starcraft-ii This is an emulator that connects to the Diablo III servers. Thus, it can theoretically play exactly like the real game. The user experience is no different than the original game. However, there are some important differences between this emulator and the "real" game, which I will comment on in this article. The build of this emulator targets Windows XP (Service Pack 2 or above). There are some issues when running it in Windows 7 or above. I use XP for all my testing because it has fewer bugs in comparison to newer versions of Windows . The emulator runs on the version of Windows that was available at the time of purchase. Thus, you cannot just download any newer version of Windows and run it on the emulator. There are two versions of this emulator for Windows: one for 32-bit and another one for 64-bit. You can play both versions at the same time. When you first start up the game, you will be prompted about which version to use. If you choose to use 64-bit, you may see some crashes because the game only supports 32-bit memory accesses in this mode. The size of the installation files is about 2.5 GB, which is a little over 8 times larger than the original game. The reason for this large file size is because many of the assets from Blizzard's base game engine are included in the emulator. In addition, I had to include a lot of Windows libraries to get Unreal Engine 4 up and running. Without these libraries, UE4 will not run on Windows XP x64, which is required for this emulator to work in 64-bit mode . This version of Diablo III may be installed in any directory that you want. cfa1e77820
